Osanbashi Pier sits at the edge of the old foreign settlement: fifteen minutes on foot brings you to Chinatown, and the other direction leads to Yamashita Park and the Red Brick Warehouse. Haneda Airport is about half an hour away, so a night here before embarkation means an unhurried morning.

Nakatsu is a castle town in Buzen and the hometown of Fukuzawa Yukichi. Nakatsu Castle, its quaint streets, and the autumn-tinted rock formations of Yabakei Gorge create the history and breathtaking scenery of inland Kyushu.

Onomichi is a literary town of hillside paths in the Seto Inland Sea and the starting point of the Shimanami Kaido.
